A late 19th century French sailor's procession banner. Lithographic printed paper mounted on pine boards, featuring the Madonna's initial 'M', entwined with an anchor, lillies, and the motto 'SPES NOSTRA' ('Our Hope'). Some ripples and tears to paper surface.
