A pair of original late Victorian chromolithographs produced for the Pears Annual, from watercolour paintings by W. S. Coleman. Original period frames.

William Stephen Coleman (1829–1904) was an English painter and illustrator. He started his career producing engravings for nature books, but then went on to be known for his watercolour paintings of women in classically-inspired landscapes and interiors. They were highly romanticised and exotic images, a popular orientalist subject matter for the period.
